The challenges are game kits designed for either a single child or a group of children.  While enjoying a challenge the kids will interact with one or more adults. Each challenge provides about two hours of enjoyment.

Each Challenge Chest™ for one child contains the following.

• Box -  A gold suitcase style corrugated 12 x 9 x 4 1/2 box.  It has a lid that tucks in and a false bottom.  Looks a little like a medieval treasure chest.  It comes sealed for the child to open and enjoy. 
• Toolkit- The toolkit contains such components as a pencil, pencil sharpener, crayons, etc.  All the necessary items to enjoy this Challenge Chest™.
• 7 Challenges - Each challenge is a "to do" project.  It may be an art project, a performance piece, a knowledge test, or a creative objective.  The challenges included with each kit vary in interests, age range, length of time to complete, and objective.  They are introduced with a cute little poem and then instructions and supplies follow.   Each challenge covers a different topic and the seven challenges in a package are not typically related to each other.  Answers are provided (if needed**) at the end of the kit, under the prize.  **Some challenges are creative only and have no right or wrong answer. 
• Prize bag - After the challenges are opened there is a little rhyme on a false bottom that directs the child to a bag with prizes inside.  The prizes are new toys and puzzles to play with on their own.  Not all challenges have the same prizes.  Please note that these prizes contain small parts that present a choking hazard.  They are not for children under 3 years of age.

Challenges for groups of children include one toolkit per child and one prize bag per child.  The challenges are designed to be shared and accomplished in cooperation and they contain work pages for teams or individuals.
